Diplomacy, sheer guts, determination, tactical planning, the ability to select wisely those mercs needed for each mission and economic concerns (ammunition, bribes, salaries, weapons, equipment, etc.) are just some of the aspects you'll need to master. There are many roads to victory and you'll have to travel most, if not all, of them. In Jagged Alliance 2, you'll be required to mix equal parts of role-playing, strategy and combat to reach your main objective. Morale, training and individual energy levels also enter the mix. Attributes are measured on a scale of zero to 100 and include a sliding pay scale commensurate with experience gained, health, agility, dexterity, strength, wisdom and leadership. Individual characteristics include initial fees demanded by each merc, skills (medical, explosives, mechanical, marksmanship and experience) and attitudes (which can change during the course of the game). Mercenaries in the game improve with success in typical RPG fashion. It'll be your responsibility to pick the right soldiers for the right job, keeping them inspired, providing sufficient ammunition and, most importantly, ensuring that paydays are never missed - after all, they're not fighting for the glory of it - they're mercenaries, just like you! You can even create your own merc with characteristics ranging from attitude to expertise. You'll need to recruit specific squads of mercenaries from a pool of 70, each selected for his or her specific skills and attributes, from the rolls of the Association of International Mercenaries (A.I.M.). And he really doesn't care how you do it, as long as you get it done! The decisions, planning and strategy that permeate a successful operation are entirely up to you! Meanwhile, stay tuned for new reveals coming out of the THQ Nordic 10th Anniversary Showcase as it goes live today. So, you wanted your own private war? What's that? You want to be paid for it too? Well, merc, your wishes are about to come true! Your renowned skills have landed you the job of winning back the country of Arulco for deposed ruler Enrico Chivaldori. Both are gems of their time and still arguably hold up on many levels today. With both these games free to claim from today until September 23, you should pick them up while you can. The game features top-down isometric combat, 28 classes, nearly a thousand pieces of equipment to explore, and online multiplayer for two to six players. Players will chase after Titans who have escaped their captivity and follow the will of the gods to hunt them down and do battle with them. From Age of Empires co-creator Brian Sullivan and Braveheart writer Randall Wallace, Titan Quest sets players off on a journey in ancient Greece, Egypt, and Asia. Meanwhile, Titan Quest Anniversary Edition is actually a 2016 overhaul of an older isometric ARPG. Jagged Alliance: Gold Edition was a gem of 1994 that gave us both a tactical strategy game and solid resource management as we fought to wrest control of an island from a vicious dictator. The combat is similar to X-COM, but with a bit more resource management involved as you take over sectors, train up militias to defend them and take control of a precious juice from a fruit specifically in the region. It’s a game of strategy and conquest against a dictator as you hire mercenaries to take out outposts, bases, and take control of a region little by little to push them back into a corner. Jagged Alliance was first released in 1994. THQ Nordic made both Titan Quest Anniversary Quest and Jagged Alliance: Gold Edition free on Steam ahead of its 10th anniversary showcase on September 17, 2021. For the coming week, players can download Titan Quest Anniversary Edition and Jagged Alliance: Gold Alliance on Steam without spending a dime. As part of its anniversary fun, THQ Nordic has also made a couple games completely free to claim. THQ Nordic’s 10th anniversary is today, and with it, the publisher is ready to show off a number of upcoming games and projects players can expect to see throughout the coming years.
